Things are looking up for Everton, who seem steady and unspectacular on the pitch, have a new stadium just months away from completion, and a takeover soon to be confirmed as well.

At last, the three areas of the club that have plagued them most seem destined to turn into positives.

This fanbase have been tried and tested for years now, yet their loyalty has never faltered.

That is what it means to be an Evertonian, and why their input on important decisions within the club should always be considered.

Fortunately, that notion could now be exemplified in the perfect way.

Dan Friedkin invites Andy Bell and George Downing onto his Everton board

The latest on Dan Friedkin’s plans for Everton, when he takes over, comes courtesy of reporter Alan Nixon, who took to his Patreon just yesterday to deliver an intriguing update.

And whilst some might seek to provide information on his thoughts on the manager, or any new players he has identified, this update instead concerns the board.

The report reads: ‘Meanwhile American takeover bidder Dan Friedkin is in the market to bring in some local knowledge to his team when he takes charge.

‘Friedkin is keen to have Andy Bell and George Downing on board if they want. The pair had money in the club and were interested in taking charge during the last few turbulent months.’

George Downing and Andy Bell tried to buy Everton back in June, but couldn’t compete with the financial might of the Friedkin Group.

Everton need experienced businessmen who care about the club

In the past, the Toffees have made some really questionable decisions from the top, that has set them back years.

Few questioned the commitment of the old board, but simply, their practises in turning Everton into a viable, successful business were fruitless, and yet they were paying themselves some of the largest sums in the Premier League.

It was this which made their alarming regression all the more frustrating to watch.

Now, with an interim panel seeking to steer them back towards a position of stability, which will then help them to finally compete at the top again, the Friedkins have a more solid foundation to build towards this goal.

And, if he has identified Downing and Bell as two potential businessmen to sit on his board, this American billionaire is certainly going in the right direction.

He has identified two multi-millionaires, both of whom are Evertonians, and both of whom wanted to own the club at one stage.

Their commitment to Everton would be unwavering.
