A discontented section of Everton’s fanbase is starting to grow now after this start to the season, who claim to know the reason behind their poor form.
So often many will seek to defend certain figures during such times of need, whether it be a misfiring striker, an underperforming defender or a manager who looks out of his depth.
On this occasion, the latter seems to be the case, yet some supporters continue to back the former Burnley man despite their poor form.
Alas, Sean Dyche is not making it easy to defend his actions, with last night’s Carabao Cup exit merely the tip of the iceberg that is their horrific start to the new season.
Something has to change, and it’s clear that Dan Friedkin would have provided just that were he in charge.
Dan Friedkin sacks AS Roma manager
Pressure is mounting on Dyche’s Everton future, and with good reason after such poor form.
However, there are valid arguments for keeping him around, just as there are for dismissing him too.

What we have just seen occur at AS Roma though speaks volumes for what one of the Toffees’ takeover suitors would have done, with Dan Friedkin having re-entered the race to buy Everton recently.
Despite his touted involvement with the club, his focus naturally remains on the Italian side he actually owns.
And, he has just made a ruthless call that does not bode well for Dyche, as Fabrizio Romano writes: ‘BREAKING: AS Roma have sacked the manager Daniele de Rossi. After 3 points in 4 games, de Rossi has been fired by Roma owners Friedkin family.’
Sean Dyche would not have survived at Everton under Dan Friedkin
Had Friedkin persisted with his initial Everton takeover in July and got in charge before the season began, it’s now clear that he would not have put up with such poor form.
After all, it took just seven months for club hero De Rossi to get the boot, picking up a miserable three points from four Serie A games in the new term.
Taking that as context and comparing it to the Toffees’ current situation, without a single point from four Premier League games and now out of the cup, this cutthroat businessman would have Dyche on the chopping block already.

With no owner in charge, it feels like the 53-year-old has free reign to do as he pleases without fear of any repercussions from those above him.
But, if the American is to get in charge, Dyche should fear for his position, with Friedkin’s willingness to sacrifice De Rossi so early on indicative that he waits around for no one.
