Everton are about to embark on a new era under David Moyes’ stewardship.
Moyes will take charge of his first Premier League game on Wednesday evening, as Everton take on Aston Villa at Goodison Park.
The Scotsman sat down for his first press conference back at Finch Farm today and shed a lot of light on a number of topics.
One being the club’s transfer plans this month as Moyes admitted he hopes to spend a bit of money in the remainding two weeks of the window.
It’s understood Ernest Nuamah is close to joining Everton, which would be a massive boost to the struggling forward line.
The former West Ham United boss also discussed his style of play plans amid fan frustation from Sean Dyche’s pragmaticsim.

David Moyes will develop style once Premier League survival is secure
Asked about how he envisions his Everton side to play, Moyes admitted that results this season are the priority but he does plan to develop his philosphy once Premier League status has been secured.
“I’m going to try and play to win as many games as I possibly can to get myself out of this position.” the 61-year-old said.
“Then, I’ll start thinking about how my style is going to develop and what I’m going to do to make that work.
“I couldn’t tell you exactly what the biggest strength of all the players here because I might know better, say in a month’s time once I’ve had them. I get to see them play, I get to see best positions, how I know what they’re good at.
“So, for me to come in and sort of strike something… I don’t know if we’re in that position where we can quite do that yet.
“But my plan is to come in and get as many wins as I possibly can.”
Moyes says Goodison Park will help Everton survive
Moyes further expanded and noted that the Goodison Park crowd will help the club to survive relegation this term.
He appeared to hint at perhaps a defensive style just to get immediate results but it certianly won’t be at the detriment of scoring goals – as was the case with Dyche.
Take his West Ham side for example, the Hammers were really solid defensively and often sat in a mid block, but they still played to strengths of the flair players like Mohamed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta.
So Iliman Ndiaye in Everton’s case will likely get much more freedom and lisence to create and score goals, rather than sitting in a rigid structure and funneling balls down the channel to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Moyes’ side, even in the short-term, are expected to be a much better watch.
