With the window counting down the days, David Moyes could make a bold move with his remaining targets.
Everton are looking to improve drastically on Sunday against Brighton after a disappointing defeat to Leeds United, but it has certainly opened the eyes of Moyes.
With zero xG amounted in that first half, it’s clear that despite the new additions this summer, the Toffees still need more signings.
Yeremy Pino is someone being tracked by Everton, as The Friedkin Group are evaluating their options.
Although the priorities have been set, the Scotsman hasn’t ruled out another signing from happening.

David Moyes has not ruled out another centre-back signing at Everton
With just ten days of the summer window remaining, the Blues are scrambling to achieve the three priority signings set out.
But this might not tell the full story, as despite a right-winger, right-back, and central midfielder being at the top of Moyes’ demands, another position could still be signed.
The Liverpool Echo is reporting that Moyes has not ‘completely discounted’ moving for a centre back in the final days of the window, due to the injury concerns faced.
After the match versus Leeds, it was concerning how many shots Everton actually faced, which could also raise the problem with quality at the back.
| Shots | 21 |
| Expected goals (xG) | 2.13 |
| Big chances | 3 |
| Shots inside box | 12 |
But the main problem looks to be the reliability, and Moyes knows he might have to take a risk.
David Moyes must be wary of James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite at Everton
After the recent news that Jarrad Branthwaite is out for six weeks, it doesn’t come as too much of a surprise that the Everton boss is considering this.
Fans are worried about Branthwaite’s availability as well, but James Tarkowski’s recent injury might have a major effect on his future career, as Tarkowski suffered a hamstring injury.
| Jarrad Branthwaite | 6 weeks |
| James Tarkowski | 12 weeks |
Tarkowski is known to be Mr. Reliable, but this setback could have hindered his chances of staying fit, and Branthwaite is known to unfortunately suffer problems.
These are two players who will be integral to this season, and Moyes knows he can’t take the risk of running with these options consistently.
However, despite the need for a centre-back, the other three listed above are the main areas of concern, and the Scotsman might just have to wing it and pray injuries stay to a minimum.
