Everton return to Premier League action tomorrow evening as they take on Bournemouth on the south coast.
There’s been a lot of fallout from Everton’s 4-1 defeat to Newcastle on the weekend, with some fans even questioning David Moyes’ future at the club.
So, heading into Tuesday’s game, there is actually a bit of pressure on Moyes to bounce back with a positive result.
The Everton manager has been speaking to the media this morning for his pre-match press conference and stated that he’s now made a big decision on Thierno Barry.

Moyes says he’s now selected Thierno Barry as his first-choice striker
Speaking to the media on Monday morning, Moyes stated that he’s now decided to make Barry his first-choice number nine and will stick with him up front over Beto.
“What we’ve chosen to do at the moment is give him the opportunity to play and to show what he can do,” the Scotsman explained.
“I think it’s been great what the supporters have done, they’ve backed him big time and it’s given him great confidence.”
Moyes added: “Look we need him to come up with goals, that’s part of the job of a number nine, to come up with goals.
“But we’re happy with the way he’s playing at the moment, he’s helping us and certainly beginning to get used to the Premier League and playing for Everton.
The Scotsman also noted that Barry is quite shy but is beginning to come out of his shell after changing clubs and countries.
Where does that leave Beto?
So, with Barry now the first-choice number nine and Everton looking at adding another striker in January, where does that leave Beto?
The former Udinese man looks like he’ll quickly become the third-choice option in the second half of the season.
So, perhaps Everton may consider selling Beto to raise funds for a better replacement; that would make the most sense.
Beto was heavily linked with a move in the summer, as Leeds United, Fenerbahce and clubs in Italy were credited with an interest.
It’d probably be wise to cash in on the 27-year-old this winter before his value decreases even more than it already has.
