Everton will have to recover from the drama of the Merseyside Derby with a difficult clash against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side.

David Moyes has had his say on the Liverpool loss, but focus will have to turn to Saturday’s meeting with Arsenal.

In an extremely quick turnaround in games, Arne Slot sympathises with Everton’s early kick-offs, which won’t please Moyes in the slightest.

Evertonians are already frustrated as the Premier League’s decision for Everton vs Arsenal sparked trouble.

Nevertheless, it’s the hand that’s been dealt to Everton, and Moyes has shown his frustration with a dig at his former player Arteta.

David Moyes sends dig at Mikel Arteta ahead of Everton vs Arsenal

The Toffees will want to wrap up their safety in the Premier League as Moyes has almost made the inevitable happen.

It was an unlucky affair against Liverpool as Moyes was disappointed with the officials and his side lost their nine-game unbeaten run.

A clash against an extremely strong Arsenal side won’t be easy, especially with a two-day gap between the derby.

With the Scotsman speaking ahead of the bout at Goodison Park, Moyes sent a slight shot at Arteta in his pre-match press conference.

“He had his own thoughts. He was always a bit grumpy!” Moyes said.

“You’ve seen that in his management.

“(On what he’s learned from Moyes) Maybe his antics on the touchline!”

Everton face toughest test for Goodison farewell to be ruined

Moyes will be hoping another loss doesn’t come Everton’s way when it comes to playing at Goodison.

With just four league games remaining at The Grand Old Lady, the Toffees manager will want the perfect farewell.

Moyes hasn’t visited Bramley Moore-Dock and won’t do until Everton have achieved safety, but he also won’t want to lose the connection of Goodison.

Looking at Everton’s last four at home, Arteta’s side certainly holds the biggest threat to ending what could be a brilliant unbeaten run at the ground.

A Man City fixture coming up won’t help, but you’d fancy Moyes’ side against Pep Guardiola on current form but it’s Arteta’s tricky Arsenal they have to overcome first.
