Evertonians will be devastated when the final game at Goodison Park arrives but should still be excited for the opening fixture at the new stadium.

Bramley Moore-Dock will be the new home for Everton and David Moyes, as the new stadium has already been given glowing reviews.

In what is expected to be an exciting opening Everton’s new ground is described as ‘gorgeous’ which may help Toffees fans get over the loss of Goodison.

After one test event already, the Everton Stadium will reopen in March or April for the next event.

However, despite plenty of fans already seeing the Bramley Moore-Dock, Moyes has refused to go.

Why David Moyes has refused to see new Everton stadium

It’s normal for the first-team manager to inspect where football will be played in the future, but the Toffees boss isn’t of that belief just yet.

Moyes has only been back at Everton for over a month so may still want to take things slow, as whatever he’s done so far has worked.

However, Moyes has revealed to the Men In Blazers podcast why he’s opted against visiting Everton’s new home.

“I’m not going until we’re a Premier League club,” Moyes said.

“I don’t want it any other fashion – Don’t worry the minute we get our points total I’ll be getting myself down there to enjoy it.”

With the Toffees seemingly cruising to Premier League safety, Moyes still isn’t convinced that Everton are safe.

This is even despite the 15-point gap from Ipswich Town, as Moyes might be the only one who thinks this.

Even though it would be very unlikely, Moyes suggested in the pre-match press conference for Brentford how many points the Toffees will need.

“We used to always talk about 40 points as managers and I think because I’m an old one, I’m going to keep talking about 40 points,” Moyes said.

“For us, whether we are bottom three or out of it, we’ve got to try and make sure that we’re getting to 40 points or more if we possibly can.”

Two wins and two draws will be enough for this goal to be achieved and soon Moyes can improve Everton with the transfer budget in the summer window, and pay a first to their new spectacular home.
