David Moyes told of two ways to improve Jack Grealish for Everton as Aston Villa loom

Jack Grealish is back available again for Everton – and David Moyes has been given two points of advice to get more out of the winger.

Jack Grealish made headlines last week after getting sent off in the Premier League game against Wolves at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Grealish was shown a second yellow card for sarcastically clapping referee Thomas Kirk, leading to a one-game suspension that ruled him out of the FA Cup game against Sunderland.

Without even factoring in that sending off, it was a poor night at the office against Wolves for Grealish.

Would you even pay £30m for Jack Grealish? 🫣

There has just been a bit of criticism recently for the on-loan Manchester City man, with his lack of consistency frustrating fans.

Prior to his two assists in the defeat against Brentford, he had not assisted for Everton in the Premier League since August.

For Michael Ball, there are a couple of things David Moyes needs to do to get the Englishman to become more effective.

Grealish is still having a decent season for Everton.

Only two players – Bruno Fernandes and Rayan Cherki – have made more assists than his six, and he’s also scored a couple of goals.

However, plenty of fans feel that Grealish is guilty of slowing the game down at times, which is a criticism he’s had playing for Manchester City.

Former Everton defender Michael Ball has written about Grealish in his latest Liverpool Echo column, and has shared how Moyes can get him to improve.

After criticising him over the sending off at Wolves, he said: “He’s had a fantastic start to his Everton career and although the team have been going through a bad moment, this is the time that you want players like him to step up to the plate.

“There needs to be options and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall isn’t there to show for him. He’s been trying to get things going but he needs more help as full-backs need to go around him and strikers need to spin or come to feet.”

Adam Aznou could help Grealish

Grealish’s creativity has perhaps suffered a little as a result of key players like Dewsbury-Hall and Iliman Ndiaye not being available.

Some have also remarked that the dynamic between him and Vitaliy Mykolenko isn’t quite right – and that is also the suggestion from Ball here.

It would be nice to see Moyes turn to Adam Aznou following his great debut against Sunderland.

Aznou was a breath of fresh air against Sunderland, and his attacking style might see him work better with Grealish than Mykolenko.

Aznou would surely look to overlap more frequently than Mykolenko, and Grealish having that option more often to reverse the ball back out wide as he comes inside could be good.
