David Moyes wants £18.5m Everton transfer and it could be bad news for Jack Harrison

Everton fans cannot wait for the summer transfer window.

The Friedkin Group will have the chance to flex their financial muscles, which couldn’t be the case in January.

Everton were still restricted by PSR in the last window, and David Moyes also didn’t want to spend money necessarily.

Supposedly, The Friedkin Group will hand Moyes a ‘healthy’ transfer budget for the summer.

New attacking reinforcements will likely be on the agenda, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin currently set to leave as a free agent, and Armando Broja only on loan from Chelsea. Jesper Lindstrom and Jack Harrison are also only on loan.

On Harrison, it’s safe to say he has some work to do in order to turn his move permanent.

But his days could be numbered given what David Moyes reportedly wants to do this summer.

It’s been reported by TEAMtalk that Moyes will prioritise a winger this summer.

By and large, the Toffees have not been good in the wide areas this season and it comes as no surprise that Moyes will look to address this area in the summer.

Harrison has regularly come in for criticism from fans for sub-par performances.

Lindstrom has also struggled, but interestingly TEAMtalk have reported that Moyes is genuinely now considering triggering the player’s £18.5 million buy option in his contract.

Currently, he’s on loan from Napoli, but sources are suggesting the Dane could be signed up permanently.

Potentially bad news for Harrison

The suggestion Everton are contemplating still signing Lindstrom may not be good news for Harrison.

Both players have predominantly played on the right side this season, but Lindstrom has been better and seems to suit the hybrid wing-back role introduced by Moyes.

Although Harrison – who wants to join Everton permanently – may get a run in the team now due to Iliman’s Ndiaye’s injury, the club’s plan to potentially sign Lindstrom up this summer may not do him any favours.

It’s suggested that even if Lindstrom and Harrison are both signed permanently, Everton will still go after a new winger.

So clearly, there is a big intention to get a new wide player in, and given Harrison’s struggles and the information about Lindstrom, his days as an Everton player could be numbered.
