Everton are coming out of the winter transfer market with the aim of remaining a Premier League side.

David Moyes will have hoped to see more new faces brought in over the last month, but there are positives around the club.

Only one signing was made in the winter market, with Carlos Alcaraz joining Everton on an initial loan deal.

Everton have been able to put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone in recent weeks.

And although no one on Merseyside will be counting themselves safe just yet, there will be a lot of optimism around what’s unfolding under Moyes.

With the hope of playing Premier League football next season, The Friedkin Group have already made a promise over the transfer budget for the summer.

The Friedkins have promised Everton summer transfer budget

Money was tight for the Toffees, who were looking heavily into the loan market but were also restricted in that sense.

Moyes admitted he was shocked by Everton’s PSR limits which hindered the club’s ability to spend.

Looking ahead to the summer window, The Athletic have suggested the Friedkins have already promised a healthy transfer budget.

The new Everton owners were keen to invest in their squad over the last month, but they were massively restricted by PSR limitations.

Everton’s new stadium is expected to create £40m in new revenue, which will be a big boost to the club’s PSR woes.

But the news of a healthy budget finally being handed out will provide Moyes with a lot of hope ahead of the summer.

Everton need a big summer transfer window

The Friedkins are anticipating a big summer at Everton, with some significant turnover potentially set to hit Merseyside.

Numerous Everton players are going to find themselves out of contract at the end of the season.

Everton have begun contract talks with Idrissa Gana Gueye after the midfielder has seriously impressed this season.

So, on top of the usual ambition to upgrade the squad, the Friedkins are also going to need to add numbers, with players expected to depart as free agents.
