Everton is a pretty harmonious place to be at the moment for a pleasant change, regardless of the recent takeover failure.
Dan Friedkin’s decision to opt-out from buying the club was hardly a surprising one given the mess that Farhad Moshiri has managed, but it still marked a crushing blow just when things were starting to look up.
But, they remain a promising proposition regardless for one brave new investor, and so with their short-term future secured, the long-term will sort itself out surely.
One man trying to revive the positivity from within the dressing room is Dominic Calvert-Lewin, whose recent comments speak volumes about the measure of one teammate in particular.

Although links persist that suggest Dominic Calvert-Lewin won’t sign a new Everton contract, he still clearly thinks highly of his teammates.
After all, he has spent eight years with plenty of this squad, and so is bound to have forged a few bonds.
Naturally, the outstanding relationship he has is with the elder statesman of the group, and he coincidentally was speaking on the documentary released about him just yesterday, SEAMUS.
The striker outlined Seamus Coleman’s impact on the squad as whole, but also the little things he does to inspire support, noting: ‘When you get a text of Shay after the game, and he’s saying how well you did and things like that, it’s a proud moment. It’s kind of like, oh I got a text off Shay I’ve done well today.
‘That’s the respect he commands and that’s how much people, and I speak for probably everybody else, how much they appreciate him. You get a message off the skipper after the game, it’s been a good afternoon. You can sleep well.’
Seamus Coleman deserves honouring at Everton
Whether it be a statue, a small memorial of sorts or just something minor at the new stadium being named after him, Coleman has more than earned some kind of honour within the club.
After all, he has given his all to the Toffees for 15 years now, and will devote his one last year which just so happens to be their last in Goodison Park before the move to the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.
The Republic of Ireland international is revered by all who meet him, whether it be fans, players or staff members, and that is across both club and international football.
The measure of the man far surpasses his footballing contribution, but it doesn’t detract that he was once one of the Premier League’s finest full-backs before injuries and age caught up with him.
But, with 422 senior appearances for Everton, and a handful more to come this season, Coleman deserves the world from this club.
