Everton’s star man is Dwight McNeil right now after his brace at the weekend, and he’s since gone on Instagram to make an interesting admission about his recent time away from his phone.

Of course, Saturday’s result is great but it won’t mean much if Everton fail to build from here.

Dwight McNeil grabbed a seven-minute brace against Crystal Palace, which sent the Goodison Park crowd into a frenzy, though it wasn’t comfortable having seen the recent collapses.

Sean Dyche will be delighted that his side was finally able to hold on to a lead, with his game management much better on this occasion.

Fresh off the buzz of three points and grabbing two goals, Dwight McNeil took to his Instagram and even made a little admission about why he’s been silent on Instagram.

Dwight McNeil shares why he’s been so quiet on social media

Dwight McNeil left Clinton Morrison impressed against Crystal Palace at the weekend, which is no surprise given his brilliant display in the No 10 role.

The Toffees are going to need him to kick on from here, with Theo Walcott even stating that McNeil is the key to Premier League survival this season.

It’s clear that the winger has been working hard behind the scenes as he recently told his audience on Instagram why he’s been so silent.

Speaking on his Instagram, McNeil stated.

‘Been quite quiet on here for a while, my focus has been on the game and training. But today was class and I just wanted to share how privileged I feel getting to do what I love and play for this club.’

Dwight McNeil much improved vs Crystal Palace

Interestingly, Dwight McNeil has already been slammed at Everton this season for giving up on occasion, which even led to a goal conceded against Bournemouth.

It was a shock for Glenn Murray to see McNeil even deployed at left-back against Brighton and Hove Albion a couple of weeks back, when you consider his qualities moving forward.

However, he looks to be turning things in a new role.

His trickery, pace and passing ability makes him an absolute nightmare to keep track of in the number 10 role, with the ability to score from range too.

To see that he’s been putting in the hard yards away from social media is great to see, as quite often nowadays, players spend all their time messing around on platforms. Neil Maupay.
