Everton have recorded their first win of the Premier League season on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.

The Toffees came into the game on Saturday without a win in the Premier League and having lost their opening two games at Goodison Park.

However, they were put under familiar circumstances when Marc Guehi gave the visitors the lead inside the first half.

But Sean Dyche‘s men provided an instant response after the break when Dwight McNeil provided Everton with an equaliser.

It was a game which Everton really needed to end their winless run in with their opening five games providing just one point.

The Toffees were able to climb up the table into 15th position with their first victory of the campaign and that largely is thanks to the £15m McNeil.

For the first time this season, Everton were able to handle to adversity and prevail with all three points to their name.

Speaking on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday, Clinton Morrison was left wowed by McNeil’s opening goal of the afternoon.

“What a goal it is!” said Morrison.

“Palace are trying to play out from the back and Dwight McNeil, he’s about 20 yards out, he just bends it into that top corner. It was a fantastic finish.”

And after the Toffees added their second of the afternoon with McNeil doubling his tally, Morrison said: “Goodison Park is roaring now.”
