Everton are seeking a positive summer transfer window to hopefully pace the way for a successful 2025/26 season.

It is now looking highly likely that Everton will be in the Premier League once again next term, after David Moyes came in and made a brilliant impact.

Sean Dyche left in early January after overseeing a really poor first half of the season in which Everton massively struggled to score goals.

Dyche left The Friedkin Group disappointed when he told them he felt he’d taken the team as far as he could, leading to the owners parting ways with him.

It wasn’t something they were looking to do, but Dyche’s position gave them no choice.

Moyes has come in and done a tremendous job, and fans are looking forward to the future under him at the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

There’s been talk of interest in a few players so far.

Everton are thought to have interest in Manor Solomon of Tottenham Hotspur.

Maxime Esteve is also a target for Everton, but a new claim has been made to suggest that a move could now be tricky for the Burnley man.

It’s been reported by journalist Alan Nixon via his Patreon that Everton are now facing competition for Esteve from AC Milan.

It is stated that scouts from the Italian giants recently made a shock visitor to Burnley to cast their eyes over the Frenchman.

Nixon claims Esteve is ‘certain’ to leave Turf Moor if the club do not achieve promotion to the Premier League. Currently, the Clarets are third, five points behind Sheffield United in second. But they do have a game in hand.

Nixon adds that Everton are keen, while there is also interest from Crystal Palace.

Esteve has seriously impressed this season, having been part of a rock-solid Burnley backline that has conceded just nine goals in 34 Championship games.

Why Everton can beat AC Milan to Esteve

It is little wonder interest is already mounting in Esteve, as he really has been fantastic for Burnley this season.

The Clarets have been utterly impenetrable and Esteve – who signed for Burnley for around £12.4 million (GFFN) – has made big contributions at the back for Scott Parker’s side.

Everton landing him this summer would be a really positive move as, on the face of it, he seems like he would be a good replacement for Jarrad Branthwaite if he were to leave the club.

Given the fact Esteve is left-footed and has a very high ceiling, it is not unreasonable to suggest Everton may see him as a replacement for the highly coveted Branthwaite.

But if Esteve came in and Branthwaite stayed, that would give Moyes brilliant depth.

AC Milan’s interest is not too ideal, but Everton can feel confident about winning a transfer race against the Italians.

This is now a club that is on the up, and one that’s moving into a sublime new stadium.

And it’s all overseen by new owners who are determined to restore this great club after years of mismanagement under Farhad Moshiri.

Everton have been great defensively in recent times, and Esteve has been used to a solid defensive culture at Turf Moor. So it seems like a match made in heaven.

With Milan floundering again this season and currently looking set to miss out on European football, Everton may fancy their chances.
