Everton admire two out-of-work managers to potentially replace Sean Dyche

Everton, since their poor start to the season, have unsurprisingly seen pressure ramp up on their manager.

That is always to be expected, and admittedly, throughout his entire career, Sean Dyche has faced scrutiny from all angles.

Whether it be arguing against the results or the style of play, it is water off a duck’s back with the 53-year-old who remains steadfast in his approach to football.

However, it always feels like that, for most Evertonians, the results must justify the football played to make it worthwhile.

If he is to be so defensive and resolute, inviting pressure onto them, they at least need a rock-solid backline to help grind out results.

That was a staple of their success last season in the Premier League, but the start of this campaign has spurred doubts over his capabilities.

Graeme Bailey provides Everton manager update

Shipping ten goals in just three league games, already they have conceded 20% of the goals they yielded throughout the entire last campaign.

So, speculation over Dyche’s future was to be expected.

We at Everton.News spoke exclusively to journalist Graeme Bailey in order to get the lowdown on the former Burnley man, just weeks after he claimed that Dyche was on thin ice at Everton.

That notion could now be reaffirmed, as he has confirmed that the Toffees are on the lookout for potential replacements to take the Goodison Park hot seat.

He revealed two out-of-work targets, noting: ‘David Moyes’ name has come up. We know he’s available. I know Graham Potter is someone who the hierarchy like, again, out of work. Big-name manager.

‘That’s not to say Dyche is on the brink. They just have to do their due diligence to make it easier for a transition if it’s needed.’

Everton need to trust in Sean Dyche

Although for some his position is untenable, Everton need to trust in Dyche now more than ever.

After all, everything he has accomplished for this club deserves far more respect than it gets, navigating them through ownership speculation and deduction turmoil, all with his hands financially tied behind his back.

Despite these obstacles, twice has safety been assured.

Potter may sound like an attractive option, but opting for him mid-season would be near-suicidal.

Meanwhile, Moyes would just offer more of the same, and truly bring the club back on a miserable full circle after his departure in 2013.

Dyche is a pragmatic, intelligent leader who knows how to guide teams through periods just like this one. Despite the options being out there, Everton’s board would be foolish to pull the trigger too readily.
