Everton clearly in safe hands as Friedkin Group’s stance on Jack Grealish is wise

Jack Grealish is due to return to his parent club Manchester City upon the expiry of his Everton loan later this month.

Grealish has stayed at Finch Farm for his rehab after foot surgery earlier this year, so clearly he’s keen to return to Everton next season.

However, as it stands, there is no agreement in place between Everton and Man City over another deal.

What should Everton be willing to pay to bring back Grealish over the summer? 💰

There is a £50m buy-option in Grealish’s contract, but the Friedkin Group won’t be taking that up.

In fact, the American investors’ stance on re-signing the 30-year-old has just been revealed, and it’s very smart.

The Friedkin Group are being smart about the Jack Grealish deal

The Athletic’s Paddy Boyland has reported that Everton are considering another loan deal for Grealish and are waiting to see how he recovers from injury before making a decision.

“Everton are open to keeping him next season, but a deal would need to be right for them,” Boyland wrote.

“They will not trigger the £50million purchase option contained in the loan deal and would need to factor his sizeable wages, around £15m per season at City, into any package.

“Another loan has not been ruled out, but they are also waiting to see how he recovers from his injury before making a final decision.”

How would you rate The Friedkin Group’s first year at Everton? 👏

This is a really sensible stance, and it shows how far the club has progressed since the scattergun approach under Farhad Moshiri, which plunged them into all sorts of financial issues.

The Friedkins are savvy businessmen and recognise that the transfer operation must be more shrewd and well thought out.

If a deal can’t be agreed to re-sign Grealish, Everton will no doubt be ready to press ahead with other deals.

The Toffees are considering West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen, and his teammate Crysencio Summerville is also on their shortlist.

So, it’s reports like this that should provide relief for Everton supporters, as clearly the club is in really safe hands.

PSR issues will be a thing of the past under the new regime.
