Everton are closely monitoring Strasbourg right-back Guela Doue.

The right-back position is one that has caused Everton manager David Moyes plenty of headaches since he returned to Merseyside last year.

Everton are keen to add a new right-back this summer after playing Jake O’Brien out of position again for the 2025/26 campaign.

There are a number of options being provided to Moyes, with Doue proving to be a player who could be a real game changer for the Blues.

It has been suggested that Everton are considering Aaron Wan-Bissaka as a right-back option following West Ham’s relegation to the Championship.

However, The Bobble has also named Doue on A View From The Bullens as a potential option for the Blues.

“Strasbourg’s Guéla Doué has also been closely monitored for some time,” he said.

“Doue offers a different type of option, with a lot more athleticism and long-term potential that appeals to Everton’s committee as they weigh up both immediate needs and future planning.”

Moyes has demanded more from his full-backs in an attacking sense, with the likes of Vitalii Mykolenko and O’Brien failing to provide much threat in the final third.

A player of Doue’s calibre could prove the perfect addition on Merseyside to combat the lack of threat on display from Everton’s full-back positions.

The 23-year-old scored just the other night for the Ivory Coast in their friendly against France.

Doue has shown his attacking threat throughout the 2025/26 campaign in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg, where he returned two goals and six assists.

To put that into perspective, that is the same return as Everton got out of Jack Grealish before he sustained his injury setback.

Having a full-back who is capable of providing this level of output would be a real game changer for Everton, who have also experienced a lack of consistency from their strikers.

Doue will certainly be catching the eye following his Ligue 1 displays, with the World Cup providing him another opportunity to earn himself some further interest.
