Everton have chance to record a first Premier League double over Brighton
Ever since Brighton won promotion to the Premier League in 2017, Everton have surprisingly never managed to win both games against the Seagulls in a single campaign.
The Toffees came closest to doing so in the 2017/18 campaign and the 2020/21 season, winning 2-0 and 4-2 at Goodison Park respectively, but finding themselves held to 1-1 and 0-0 draws at the Amex Stadium.

The Seagulls are an interesting opponent for Everton – who are struggling on the transfer front ahead of the 5pm deadline on Monday.
Before the Premier League started in 1992, the Toffees only ever won both league games over Brighton in a single season once.
It came during the 1980/81 campaign, when Everton recorded a 3-1 win in the away fixture, before sealing a thrilling 4-3 win at Goodison Park.

So, while some might just view this game – which Chris Kavanagh will officiate – as a standard Premier League fixture, it is actually a chance for Moyes to make a bit of history at Everton.
