How Everton could benefit from Erik ten Hag’s sacking at Manchester United

Everton luckily don’t have to worry about anything managerially at this moment in time, but the same can’t be said for Manchester United.

Sean Dyche is one of the form managers in the Premier League at this moment in time, which is a weird thing to say after seeing the first four games.

Everton have a healthy gap above the relegation zone. This is something that the Friedkin Group will keep an eye on, as they’ll be desperate for Premier League football heading into the new stadium.

The Friedkin Group are willing to wait and see how things unfold under Sean Dyche, but if their decisions in AS Roma are anything to go by then they won’t waste any time in making changes.

However, one managerial change that could happen in the Premier League involved Ruben Amorim, and it could benefit Jarrad Branthwaite.

Ruben Amorim being considered for the Man United job

Ruben Amorim has been making a name for himself with his managerial style and results at Sporting Lisbon in Portugal.

Manchester United are close to appointing Ruben Amorim as their new boss (as per the Mirror).

He has some rather interesting transfer targets already on his radar, which involves three Sporting Lisbon players, including Pedro Goncalves, Goncalo Inacio and Marcus Edwards (as per TeamTALK).

The Red Devils already have the likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans, Leny Yoro and Victor Lindelof, so there’s only really room for one more centre-back potentially.

Therefore, it looks as if Inacio could be that man given his links to Amorim already.

Jarrad Branthwaite no longer a target for Man United

Rumours emerged of Manchester United wanting to sign Jarrad Branthwaite just weeks prior to Erik ten Hag’s sacking, with the Dutchman a fan of the defender.

Of course, a move to Manchester United wouldn’t necessarily be an upgrade, but some players see a move to Old Trafford as attractive with the inevitable pay rise and the history.

After all, it was claimed in the summer that Branthwaite was frustrated that a move to Manchester United had stalled.

Ten Hag’s departure could now ruin any form of interest that Manchester United had regarding a move for the Everton centre-back in January and beyond.

Ruben Amorim clearly has his sights set on Inacio for obvious reasons, possibly knocking another club off the list of potential suitors for Branthwaite.
