Everton could buy £15m star who can play seven different positions

David Moyes likes to have players with a bit of versatility.

At Everton, the Glaswegian has fielded James Garner at right-back and left-back at times this season, despite the England international being a central midfielder by trade.

Jarrad Branthwaite and Jake O’Brien have also been used in full-back areas despite considering themselves to be central defenders. Most recently, Merlin Rohl was used on the right wing in the 3-3 draw against Manchester City, despite already telling Everton fans he is a “box-to-box” midfielder.

Soon, when the transfer window opens, The Friedkin Group could sign the ultimate utility player for Moyes in Noah Sadiki.

Everton target Noah Sadiki can play almost everywhere

It was Caught Offside who claimed that Everton want Sadiki.

A deal will be tough to complete with Chelsea and Manchester United also keen on the DR Congo international, but if Everton can secure his signature, Moyes will surely be delighted.

Sadiki – who Sunderland signed from Union SG for £15m last July – is a central midfielder by trade, but at the age of just 21, has already played in seven different positions throughout his career.

The Sunderland No.27 typically resides in either a flat central midfield role or defensive midfield, but as you can see below, has experience of playing at right-back and left-back, as well as in the centre of defence. The Everton target can also play on either side of midfield.

As aforesaid, it will be a tough deal to pull off considering Sunderland easily stayed up and Sadiki – contracted until July 2030 – played a key role.

However, if a deal can be done, Moyes would presumably be absolutely delighted to have the former Anderlecht star, whose ability to play a range of positions will keep opposition managers on their toes and also ensure Everton can cover more effectively for any absences.
