Tim Cahill remains a firm fan favourite at Everton.
The Australian became a hero at Goodison Park after scoring 68 goals in 278 appearances for the Toffees following a £1.5m move from Millwall in 2004.
Despite not possessing the height of a striker like Peter Crouch – for example – Tim Cahill made a habit of finding the net with his head, thanks to his immense timing and impressive jumping ability.
Now, Everton could sign a similar attacker for David Moyes in Youssef En-Nesyri as a bid is sent to Fenerbahce.
Everton working to sign a player who out-jumped Cristiano Ronaldo to secure FIFA record in Youssef En-Nesyri
Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that Everton have bid for En-Nesyri, hoping to take the Morocco international on loan with a €20m (£17m) option to buy.
How big of a risk is this for Everton? 😫
Scoring goals in Turkey is completely different to the Premier League…
If a deal does materialise, Moyes should instruct his players to deliver the 28-year-old as many crosses as possible.
En-Nesyri incredibly jumped nine feet and one inch off the ground to score for Morocco in the 2022 World Cup quarter-final against Portugal, sealing a 1-0 win to put his country into the last four.
In doing so, the Everton target not only knocked Cristiano Ronaldo out of the tournament, but he also snatched his FIFA record for the highest jump.
The Portugal international previously held the record after scoring a header for Juventus against Sampdoria by leaping eight feet and four inches to meet the ball.
En-Nesyri, who stands at 6ft 2ins, has impressively netted 39 headers throughout his career, so if this deal does materialise, Moyes needs to ensure he gets plenty of service.
David Moyes needs to make some changes if Youssef En-Nesyri deal materialises
Should Fenerbahce accept the bid from Everton – who also like Ethan Nwaneri – Moyes needs to work on getting his side to cross the ball more, as the numbers show the Toffees are not the most prolific crossers.
What will you think about TFG if Everton don’t address their needs in the winter window? 🤔
The pressure is on The Friedkin Group according to Alan Myers…
WhoScored shows that Everton only deliver 18 crosses every 90 minutes in the Premier League, a tally bettered by six sides in Newcastle, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham, Liverpool, Bournemouth and Wolves.
That somewhat makes sense when Everton have only had the struggling Thierno Barry and Beto to aim for.
However, if an elite aerial threat joins in En-Nesyri, Moyes needs to make the Toffees more direct.
