Fiorentina have made an offer to sign reported Everton target Boulaye Dia.

Corriere Dello Sport have revealed that the Italian club have included Arthur Cabral in exchange to half Dia’s price tag.

The 26-year-old scored 16 goals while on loan with Salernitana last season, and his stay in Serie A is set to become permanent as they look to activate the £10.2 million buy option in his deal.

However, Dia has a £21m release clause in his contract that will expire on July 15 and Everton are one club seemingly eager to take advantage of it.

Italian media outlet Cronache Salerno revealed that Everton were pursuing the forward during the January transfer window, however a move failed to materialise.

Fiorentina could now lead the race to sign Dia, with negotiations ongoing.

Sean Dyche’s side will be disappointed if they fail to make a move for the 26-year-old, who was previously praised by his international teammate, Sadie Mane.

Speaking in 2020, the former Liverpool attacker said: “I didn’t know him before.

“But since the start of the season I started to follow him, and I’m really impressed by his qualities. I think he won’t stay at Reims forever, believe me!”

Dia has since gone onto impress and starred for Senegal during the World Cup, where he scored the opener in their 3-1 win over Qatar.

Who could Everton sign as a Boulaye Dia alternative?

Everton remain linked with a long list of strikers this summer as they look to bolster a frontline that only netted four goals in the Premier League last season.

While Boulaye Die looks off the cards, the Toffees still have plenty of options.

With finances limited, Moussa Dembele on a free transfer could be the perfect addition for the Merseyside outfit.

The Frenchman bagged 21 goals in Ligue 1 during the 2021-22 campaign and has a proven goalscoring record for Celtic and Fulham earlier in his career.

Dembele is set to turn 27 years old next month and has plenty of time to reach his potential, while he poses no risk for Everton if he is available for nothing.
