Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite will likely be the subject of speculation this summer, with Real Madrid reportedly on his tail.

It has been a great campaign so far from the 22-year-old, who has put in a string of great performances at the back alongside James Tarkowski.

Had it not been for Branthwaite, Tarkowski and Jordan Pickford, Everton could have been a world of trouble.

But that trio kept things tight at the back, and Branthwaite’s fine form has continued under David Moyes.

Real Madrid are interested in Branthwaite, with Carlo Ancelotti eyeing a raid on his former club for the centre-back.

But Everton are determined to keep Branthwaite, as the club prepare for their new dawn at Bramley-Moore Dock.

It’s been reported by Give Me Sport that Real Madrid are optimistic they will be able to sign Branthwaite for around £50 million this summer.

The Spanish giants want a new centre-back for next term and currently, they have Branthwaite and also Cristian Romero of Tottenham Hotspur on their radar

It’s previously been suggested that Everton value Branthwaite more towards the £70 million mark.

Despite this, Real Madrid feel a deal is there to be done for less.

It’s also stated by GMS that Real have resisted the temptation to make contact with Everton so far.

Real Madrid are kidding themselves with Branthwaite valuation

If Real Madrid intend to come forward with a bid of around £50 million for Branthwaite this summer, then that is borderline disrespectful.

Everton are said to value Branthwaite more towards £70 million. But Real Madrid are refusing to pay Branthwaite’s actual asking price, so currently the difference is large.

And Everton are well with their rights to demand such a fee, with Branthwaite having the potential to become one of top centre-backs in the Premier League and in football in general.

He’s got all the attributes you could want in a modern-day central defender, so £50 million surely just wouldn’t cut it.
