Everton faced with new fears as fresh twist in 777 Partners takeover now emerges

Everton fans will know better than most how difficult it can be to support a club like theirs.

Whether it be on-pitch struggles and poor form leading to relegation battles, or off-pitch financial misconduct resulting in a points deduction. Things are never simple as a supporter of the Toffees, and yet, most wouldn’t have it any other way.

However, recent years have seen that faith challenged immensely, with some of the most trying times in the club’s history pushing that fanbase to breaking point.

Whilst Sean Dyche threatened to ease them back towards stability, an unprecedented punishment from the Premier League has seen them dragged back down towards the mire.

Well, just as it seemed like he had repeated his miracle, The Daily Mail has since offered a new update regarding 777 Partners’ proposed takeover of Everton.

They write: ‘The Premier League have indicated to Everton’s prospective buyers 777Partners that there their takeover will not be approved before the end of the year raising fears that the club may enter administration next month.’

The repercussions of this are later noted, suggesting that it could actually force the club into administration due to the lack of fiscal backing denying them entry would invoke. This would, therefore, result in another nine-point deduction.

Would Everton get relegated if they went into administration?

Funnily enough, with the form Everton are currently enjoying, a nine-point deduction could still not be enough to send Dyche’s men down.

After all, the ten-point deduction administered just last month saw them drop to 19th in the table, having previously been eight points clear of the drop.

However, already they have climbed out from that position, having won nine in their last 13 to sit four points clear of 18th-placed Luton Town.

To lose another nine points would be a hammer blow, but five points from safety would be more than assailable for a side flying at the moment.

This season has seen Dyche average a points per game of 1.68, suggesting that across a 38-game season, they will finish on 64 points. To snag 19 points away from that tally would therefore leave their final position at 45 points.

Meanwhile, the Hatters’ Rob Edwards is only managing a 0.67 points per game average, and so by the end of the Premier League term should only end up on 25 points.

Therefore, even including Everton’s potential new deduction, should they maintain their current form, it would not be enough to relegate them. And that is without knowing the outcome of their initial appeal too.
