Everton picked up three points on the south coast yesterday as they defeated Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0.
David Moyes has now guided his side to back-to-back victories, putting them seven points clear of the relegation zone.
So the picture is certainly a lot brighter on Merseyside as the Toffees are very much in the driving seat to retain their Premier League status.
Iliman Ndiaye netted the only goal of the game from the penalty spot and was actually applauded by Brighton fans for his performance.
Jake O’Brien also impressed but Everton fans all agreed on who the Man of the Match should be.

Everton fans agree Idrissa Gueye was Man of the Match
Everton fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to heap praise on Idrissa Gueye, who they believed was the worthy recipient of the Man of the Match award.
@TacticallyMatt said: “MOTM, Idrissa Gueye. Shoutout the back four though. Tarkowski and Branthwaite I thought were brilliant in particular. Not pretty and aged another few years, but that’s two wins on the bounce and 2 from 3 under Moyes. Everton now seven points clear of the relegation zone.”
@Ben_Islington explained: “Idrissa Gueye has been the heartbeat of Everton’s back-to-back wins. My player of the season so far. Big blow losing Mangala but telling that Ndiaye ran straight to his countryman at full-time. At his very best since Moyes’ return and grossly underrated across his PL career.”
“Gueye man he was everywhere MOTM,” @matkingwill posted.
@johnfletch24 commented: “Gueye easy MOTM but I’ve been impressed with O Brien.”
“Isn’t a blade of grass that this man doesn’t cover. Sensational,” @james_hitchco added.
@MPthirtytwo wants Gueye to sign a new deal: “Get that extension lined up!!!”
Everton should consider extending Gueye’s contract
Gueye has been one of Everton’s most consistent performers this season and yet, as it stands, he’s set to leave in the summer.
The veteran midfielder is out of contract at the end of June and so far, there’s been no sign of extending his deal.
Everton should seriously consider offering him a one-year extension as they look to settle into their new stadium next season.
His experience and knowledge of the football club will be invaluable during that transitional period.
