Iliman Ndiaye has already established himself as a favourite at Everton, but fans want to see a position change after watching old footage of him at Sheffield United.

Everton uncovered a gem in Iliman Ndiaye in the summer, and the transfer is already bearing fruit.

One of the good things about Ndiaye is how hard he works and the dedication he has for football, which is evident from him wanting to become the best player in the world.

However, one thing that has raised questions at Everton is the position Ndiaye has been used in, as he typically played behind the striker up before joining.

He’s been used on the left wing mostly and it’s been going well, with three goals in all competitions.

And Ndiaye has even had his own song made up about him, which has already got stuck in the head of Seamus Coleman who has been singing it around Finch Farm.

A position change for Iliman Ndiaye

Interestingly, Sean Dyche has already spoken on his use of Ndiaye out wide and how he’s happy to continue using him there, despite noises.

“We try and look at players with as much flexibility as we can. When Iliman got here everyone was telling me he must play in the #10. I think we are finding he can play and operate where he is doing and I think he is doing a very good job at it so far.

“Not every player lives in a certain role. You look and you change and see where you think they can fit and I think Ili is beginning to look like he knows that zone out wide, his stats are improving, they are still not total Premier League stats so far but that is about learning about the Premier League, the ups and downs of playing out wide, the wide player nowadays doesn’t just stand out wide, they work both ways, that is the modern way of playing across the Premier League.”

During his time at Sheffield United he appeared 30 times behind the striker, scoring 14 times in 43 appearances, which is a respectable record.

He played just once on the left wing during his 88 appearances for the Blades.

Interestingly, a video has resurfaced of Ndiaye playing behind Oli McBurnie for Sheffield United against West Bromwich Albion, and it’s given Everton fans a few ideas.

Everton fans call for Iliman Ndiaye position change

These Everton fans, when speaking on X, all said the they fancy an Iliman Ndiaye position change.

“Ndiaye behind the striker please.”, @Benjwinst said.

@PabsH77 agreed. “Said this Saturday, 2 men marked him out of the game out wide swap him with McNeil bring him into the 10 role and get him on the ball more.”

@mobrownz stated: “Agreed, it’s obvious this is his best position. McNeil has played well there, but Ndiaye is a proper No 10.”

@SimoEFC mentioned: “Been saying this for a while. As decent as McNeil has been in that position he’s limited with having one foot. Whereas Ndiaye is tricky and could make things happen.”

“Wasted on the wing.”, @LordStu1234 thinks he’s been wasted so far.

@grandoldteam84 commented: “I believe he would work well with dcl. Dcl would assist him more than he would assist dcl. Ndiaye is the best finisher in the side.”
