Everton are moving in the right direction after picking up all three points against Ipswich, but one player who’s currently struggling is Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The Toffees now find themselves in 16th position one eight points, five points ahead of Crystal Palace in the bottom three.
Everton relied heavily on Dwight McNeil against Crystal Palace, but it was a much more balanced performance against Ipswich, with goals from Michael Keane and Iliman Ndiaye.
Fans will have been nervous at half-time with the score at 2-0 after a few collapses earlier on in the season, with the Bournemouth clash springing to mind more than any other.
One negative is the form of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has failed to make the most of the chances being offered to him against Ipswich.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s performance against Ipswich
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been the subject of transfer interest with his contract set to run out in the summer.
His performances on the field haven’t been the best, though he has managed to score two goals and assist one in the current campaign.
Against Ipswich, it was more of the same story with his struggles in front of goal. He had three shots on target, two shots off target, and two big chances missed.
The one stat that shows how distant he was at times is the 29 touches, despite playing 90 minutes.
Everton fans react to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s display
These Everton fans, when speaking on X, all said how disappointed are with Calvert-Lewin’s finishing.
“On the DCL topic. His overall play today was actually really good, he played well. But the finishing is an issue. You can’t play Beto instead of him though cos he can’t do the work DCL does. And he also can’t finish either.” @CalDC1878 said.
@mcganity77 wasn’t happy: “DCL played well today, but 1v1 he’s the worst striker ever, Hold up play and running at defence excellent.”
@Bluetoffeeman07 stated: “Workman like win , but the 3 points were important and a clean sheet helps the GD , should have been more but DCL left his finishing boots at home again, Ipswich are poor though.”
@Everton18789 mentioned: “DCL’s work rate and nuisance factor is second to no one. His finishing though is appalling.”
“Have absolutely no confidence anytime DCL goes through on goal. Really needs to sort his finishing out cause he can score bags if he actually puts chances away, could have had a hattrick today but instead walks away with 0.” @EvertonBlueArmy said.
@maximossilver commented: “DCL could have had a hat trick if he was any good at finishing…”
