Everton are showing an interest in Fulham striker Raul Jimenez.
It has just been reported that Everton are keeping close tabs on Raul Jimenez, with his Fulham contract due to expire at the end of the season.
Everton are eyeing Raul Jimenez… how would you feel about that signing? 👀
He's due to become a free agent in the summer
As it stands, Jimenez will become a free agent, so the Toffees are sniffing around the Mexico international.
With that said, we decided to ask our TalkingPoints and Facebook users whether the 34-year-old would be a good signing for David Moyes’ side.
Everton fans really don’t want Raul Jimenez
Despite Jimenez’s nine-goal season with the Cottagers, Everton fans are all against the potential signing.
Many are labelling him too old.
- “No, our days as a retirement home need to end. We need kids and younger players, not ‘past their prime but add experience.'”
- “Too old, but Moyes loves the older senior players.”
- “This would be a massive step backwards, not a chance.”
- “We have youth we are not using.”
- “No thanks to old.”
- “No more oldboys.”
Everton have also been linked to Alexander Sorloth, who has enjoyed a productive season in La Liga with Atletico Madrid.
Sorloth is four years younger than Jimenez and has a much better goal record this term, netting 16 times, including five in the Champions League.
Remember him at Crystal Palace… would you like to see Sorloth at the Hill Dickinson Stadium? 👀
But, Toffees supporters have also said they don’t want Sorloth, as he previously failed in the Premier League with Crystal Palace.
Jonathan David is another striker being linked to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and his representatives have already reportedly held talks with Moyes’ chiefs.
David has been on Moyes’ radar for several years, with the Canada international previously tipped to join West Ham United in 2021.
Clearly, the Toffees boss is a big admirer of the 26-year-old, so it wouldn’t at all be surprising if he were the top target up front.
