Everton are in the market for a striker this January transfer window.

David Moyes has been drawing up a list of striking targets for months, with Youssef En-Nesyri one of the latest to be linked to Everton.

Although, En-Nesyri isn’t convinced about a move to England, so that deal looks like it’s dead in the water.

Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a sensational return to the Toffees and the Friedkin Group have made an enquiry to Napoli.

That said, Everton fans have been giving their thoughts on the potential Lukaku signing on TalkingPoints.

Everton fans would absolutely love to sign Romelu Lukaku

Napoli are reportedly looking to move Lukaku on this month, and Everton have been making checks on the conditions of the deal.

If YOU were in charge, would you bring Lukaku back to Everton? 🤔

Toffees fans reacted to the rumour on TalkingPoints and it’s fair to say, they’d absolutely love to have him back at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

“I’d defo take him back.”

“Would perhaps be a bit risky but can’t lie, I’d love to see him come back.”

“100%. The Everton fans would be lifted by it. Great mentor for Barry too.”

“Yes bring him back.”

“Would be a great signing for any PL club outside the top six.”

One fan had a contrasting view: “Nah. Age against him.”

Romelu Lukaku’s wages could be an issue

According to Capology, Lukaku earns around £171,000-a-week at Napoli, so that could be an issue for Everton.

The Belgium international would immediately become the best-paid player at the club, apart from Jack Grealish, who is on loan.

So, if they were to place Lukaku on a three-year deal, for example, it’d require a huge financial commitment.

His wages would cost £26m across those three years, and that’s even without the transfer fee that Napoli would want.

So, it remains to be seen whether the Friedkin Group would be willing to do the deal.
