Tottenham Hotspur defeated Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final on Wednesday evening.
Everton chiefs would’ve been watching the Europa League final closely, knowing that Man United failing to win would almost certainly rule out a substantial bid for Jarrad Branthwaite.
Branthwaite’s future now looks a lot more secure, with United’s summer budget set to be significantly lower than initially planned.
The Toffees also watched former player Richarlison perform on the big stage and land his first European trophy.
The Brazilian worked tirelessly until he was forced off in the 67th minute through injury and now Everton fans are all saying the same thing.

Everton fans happy for Richarlison but aren’t convinced he should return
Everton fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, after the Europa League final and hailed Richarlison for his achievement.
However, there was a common theme as they admitted the club shouldn’t re-sign him due to his injury issues, which continue to plague him.
@PaulCarrott3 posted: “Thought Richarlison was excellent for 50 minutes, but also showed exactly why we shouldn’t resign him. He couldn’t run after an hour. We can’t accommodate another injury prone attacker.”
“I’d love nothing more to see Richarlison in an Everton kit but he’s just come off injured again. No way we can take the risk on him next season,” @OlHill1 said.
@everton_arent added: “Love Richarlison but we have absolutely finished his body off.”
“Will always think fondly of Richarlison but don’t want him back,” @IntoTheseEFC admitted.
@shrekfacethema1 commented: “I agree, legend that he is but his legs have gone.”
“No chance, great that he’s won a trophy but he’s no longer the player we sold,” @FatWeightlifter said.
David Moyes has already poured cold water on Richarlison link
It was being reported earlier this month that Everton were exploring a deal to sign Richarlison this summer transfer window.
However, when asked about Everton’s rumoured interest, David Moyes poured cold water on the transfer link.
“There is zero truth in that in my side,” Moyes told reporters.
Everton are looking at signing younger players this summer as the Friedkin Group want to drive down the average age of the squad.
Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap is on Moyes’ radar instead and will cost around £30m due to a relegation release clause.
