Everton managed to come back from a goal down to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
For most of the game, Everton struggled to get up to the pace of the game and Crystal Palace took a deserved lead.
But, the Toffees fought back through the ever-reliable Iliman Ndiaye, who converted a penalty after Tim Iroegbunam was fouled.
Jack Grealish managed to net a stoppage time winner to end Crystal Palace’s 19-game unbeaten streak, but David Moyes will know there’s a lot to improve heading into the October international break and fans were very critical about one decision against the Eagles.

Everton fans baffled by David Moyes decision vs Crystal Palace
Everton supporters took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to voice their frustration at Moyes’ decision to substitute Thierno Barry and Tyler Dibling at half-time.
“What a way to destroy a young lad’s confidence there. Dibling was no worse than anyone else. Moyes needs to look at his coaching and formations to predictable,” @Peter1048512 posted.
@somecallme2019 added: “We’ve been s— but Moyes really not doing much for the young lads, hauling them off at half time every week. Barry looks s— though and Dibling somehow doesn’t look ready for Premier League football either (although looks miles better than Barry).”
@Joewillo180 said: “So 2 of our new signings that we’ve spent in excess of over £60m are getting subbed off at HT in only their first (Dibling) & second (Barry) PL start for the club… How are they supposed to learn & develop with limited game time on the pitch?”
@_Drew_McCoy_ commented: “Barry was awful but I’m not sure this switching strikers every half because they are ineffective is a great plan. Not sure how anyone gets better this way. Pick one and give them a run. Dibling wasn’t bad, he was completely invisible. Alcaraz coming on was a no-brainer.”
David Moyes must give Tyler Dibling and Thierno Barry a proper run of games
It’s been far too stop-start for Dibling and Barry this season, so they’ve really struggled to make an impact since arriving in big-money deals.
That was Dibling’s first Premier League start for the Toffees today, and yet he was given just one half to show what he’s about.
To get into a rhythm, Moyes must give them a proper run in the side and allow them to make mistakes without being dragged off at the earliest chance.
As fans said, taking them off at half-time is only going to damage their confidence, especially since they’re such young players.
In Barry’s case, it’s not as if Beto is a sizable upgrade, and many would argue the former is actually more polished anyway.
