Everton came from a goal down to beat Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon as Jack Grealish grabbed a dramatic late winner.

Everton were a little flat in the first half against Palace, and the visitors deservedly held a first-half lead through Daniel Munoz’s goal.

David Moyes responded by substituting Thierno Barry and Tyler Dibling at half-time, introducing Beto and Carlos Alcaraz at the break.

The changes worked as Iliman Ndiaye scored from the spot before Jack Grealish scored the winner late on.

The goal was slightly fortuitous as Munoz cleared the ball against Grealish, with the ball then flying into the net.

Everton fans on Carlos Alcaraz performance vs Crystal Palace

Barry and Dibling have been bought for the future, but Moyes needed to make instant-impact changes against Palace.

Alcaraz dazzled against Palace last season, and he certainly made an impression after coming on against the Eagles on Sunday.

The Argentinian has struggled for action of late, but he left Everton fans impressed with his display against Palace.

Everton fans took to social media to praise Alcaraz for changing the game with an ‘outstanding contribution’ for the Toffees.

Others suggested that Alcaraz was the ‘spark’ Everton needed, with his energy and direct style of play proving crucial.

Some now want to see Alcaraz start regularly for Everton after a slow start to the Premier League season for the midfielder.

Carlos Alcaraz stats in Everton win

Alcaraz started for Everton at Leeds United on the opening day of the season, but has found first-team action hard to come by ever since.

The former Southampton man had been miscast as a right-sided midfielder, but was right at home in his more natural position as a number 10.

Alcaraz only played 45 minutes, but racked up five ball recoveries, three successful duels, two tackles, one key pass, one shot on target, 18 passes and one dribble.

This was a fantastic outing for Alcaraz and a clear message that he is ready to shine in Moyes’ starting XI.

Moyes now has the international break to ruminate over that one, as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s suspension will be over before facing Manchester City.
