Everton’s Harrison Armstrong was in action for Preston North End on Saturday afternoon as they played Oxford United.

Preston fans have been blown away by Harrison Armstrong so far this season, and the Everton loanee played another starring role in the 2-1 win away at Oxford.

Armstrong made his 10th Championship start of the season and played in the defensive midfield position.

Many Toffees supporters actually tuned in to watch the 18-year-old as Preston were the lunchtime kick-off on Sky Sports.

Here’s what they had to say about Armstrong’s display.

Everton fans in awe of Harrison Armstrong after watching Preston vs Oxford United

Everton fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to give their verdict on Armstrong’s performance against Oxford yesterday.

“At 18, it’s mad just how much of a level above the other players on the pitch Harrison Armstrong actually looks,” @Richlloyd1984 posted.

@reeceg08 replied: “Watching it as well mate, it’s crazy how he just looks so suited to the speed of the league as well. Special.”

What would be the best decision for Armstrong’s development? 😬

“If he wasn’t an Everton loanee, I’d be screaming at the club to buy him in January, never mind next summer. Says something about how good he looks already,” @MR3402 commented.

@GraemeMcV said: “Serious talent on our hands. Will save us a fortune in summer on a CM.”

Preston supporters were also impressed by the Toffees loanee.

“Harrison Armstrong, what a footballer,” @dom_33 noted.

@sophiehoward92 said: “Harrison Armstrong, epic!”

Harrison Armstrong stats vs Oxford United

Armstrong, who is an England youth international, is very accomplished on the ball and has a fantastic passing range.

But, what makes the 18-year-old stand out above other academy players in his age group is that he’s incredibly tenacious and has an exceptional engine.

Sofascore statistics evince how well-rounded he is, as he had to really dig in defensively to help Preston get the three points at Oxford.

Armstrong has become a great ball-winner and mirrors the traits Idrissa Gana Gueye has, so Moyes should seriously consider recalling him in January, whilst the Senegal international is away at AFCON.
