Everton suffered their sixth Premier League defeat of the season away at Chelsea on Saturday.

Everton lost arguably their best player in Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the opening 20 minutes at Stamford Bridge, as he was forced off with a hamstring injury.

David Moyes gave an injury update on Dewsbury-Hall after the game, explaining that he felt tightness leading up to the Stamford Bridge clash.

So, the Toffees certainly didn’t get off to the best start, but despite that, Moyes was encouraged by his side’s performance.

Chelsea fans were even blown away by how good one Toffees star performed, and they want Enzo Maresca to sign him.

Chelsea fans left blown away by Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye

Chelsea fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to heap praise on Everton playmaker Iliman Ndiaye after the game.

“We’ve got to buy Ndiaye. He’s unbelievable,” @propahcheIs posted.

@Iewdawg added: “Ndiaye is genuinely levels.”

“He’s genuinely so good. Need him at the bridge next season,” @fxd1012 admitted.

@KingSamB88 said: “He’s an all-rounder…. unlucky not to score the goal….Everton will miss him when he goes to AFCON.”

“Way too good to be playing for Everton,” @CFCMust commented.

“#EFC’s main threat is coming down the right…you can see #CFC are very nervous about Ndiaye every time the ball goes near him,” @SJohnsonSport explained.

Iliman Ndiaye could now be absent for more than a month

That was actually Ndiaye’s last game for Everton in 2025, as he’s jetting off with Senegal to the Africa Cup of Nations.

Ndiaye could miss seven games, as the final of the tournament takes place on the 18th of January, and Senegal are one of the favourites to win it.

Moyes has hinted that Tyler Dibling will get more chances in Ndiaye’s absence, and so too will Dwight McNeil and Carlos Alcaraz.

“There’s a few (players), Charly Alcaraz, Dwight McNeil who are all keen to get selected and put into the side,” Moyes said before the Chelsea game.

“They’ll all be used and I’ve got no doubt about that in the coming weeks and months.”
