There’s no doubt David Moyes has done a fantastic job since returning to Everton in January 2025.
David Moyes has taken Everton from a relegation battle to challenging for Europe in a very short space of time.
However, despite that, there is a growing section of the Toffees fanbase that is becoming frustrated with Moyes.
Two games to go… where do you see Everton actually finishing in the table? 😫
Europe now feels incredibly unlikely… 👋
Many feel his team selections have been poor, and his treatment of some of the younger players and summer recruits is strange.
Moyes’ post-match comments are also being criticised, as he can be far too negative about the quality of this side.
With that said, we decided to ask fans on TalkingPoints whether they would swap the Scotsman for Andoni Iraola, who has already announced that he’s leaving Bournemouth at the end of the season.

Everton fans split on whether they’d sack David Moyes for Andoni Iraola
Everton fans have been replying to the TalkingPoint below and on our Facebook page with a lot of different points.
The Bournemouth manager has announced he’s leaving… 🤔
It seems there is a complete split in the fanbase over whether they’d sack Moyes for Iraola.
- “Yes in a heartbeat. I love Moyes & he’s done a great job, but to kick on we need someone younger & more daring.”
- “Yes. Moyes is too set in his ways. We need a manager capable of taking us to the next level.”
- “Didn’t we try that with Martinez/Koeman and Silva?”
- “No, Moyes has only been at Everton 17 months and taken the club from 17th to 10th.”
- “Many will be scared of getting rid of Moyes, yes he’s steadied the ship, but can he steer us forward? I’d take the gamble on Iraola.”
- “There’s a hint of us going stale I think under Moyes.”
- “I would give Moyes at least another season, he’s picked the club up and we are progressing…Don’t forget the past five or six seasons of relegation stress. He’s a committed blue.”
- “Honestly I would. Moyes has done a very good job. But he doesn’t have enough faith in youngsters.”
- “Yes, definitely. Iraola plays positive football, always plays to win.”
- “Just because a manager has exceeded expectations at a club with great footballing models doesn’t guarantee they can waltz into another club and obtain the same success.”
- “I’m happy with Moyes!! He’s the right man for the job right now!!”
- “Well, West Ham swapped him, look where they are!”
- “No and he’s probably got a big offer coming from Spain or even Chelsea, but I’m very happy with Moyes right now. It’s a good fit, we bring the best out in him and vice versa.”
The Friedkin Group do have a big decision to make on Moyes, as his contract expires at the end of next season.
It’d be unwise to hand the Scotsman a £100m budget this summer if they plan to move him on in 12 months time.
So, they must either extend his contract for another couple of years or make the bold and controversial decision to replace him now.
