Everton missed a great opportunity to move into the top six last night, as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth.
Everton’s form at the Hill Dickinson Stadium is becoming a serious problem in their quest to qualify for Europe this season.
The Toffees were awful in the second-half against Bournemouth, as they conceded two poor goals to throw away their one-goal lead.
HOW on earth have Everton ended up losing that? 😡
Something drastically needs to change on home soil… 🫣
David Moyes was visibly furious in his post-match interview, as he indirectly criticised Thierno Barry for his missed chances.
Everton fans had a stern message for Moyes on TalkingPoints after the game, with many growing frustrated with some of the Scotsman’s decisions.
Everton fans slam David Moyes for ‘pathetic’ football vs Bournemouth
Replying to the TalkingPoint below, supporters made their feelings very clear about Moyes and some of his decisions.
What would your message to David Moyes be after another loss at home? 😫
He seemed fairly pleased with his players despite the defeat 😬
- “Players were shocking. Moyes sounding like Martinez and our home form following similar pattern. To get the crowd up requires the players to be at it. They were not at it tonight. Maybe they’d all like to be linked to other clubs. We are a shadow of our former selves with the passive, pathetic football we play at home.”
- “Moyes is delusional. Stuff Barry and Beto and bring Braiden Graham up into the senior team in place of them for a few games, he has earned it. And changed formation at home to 3 CBs and two wingbacks using Patterson and Aznou, and drop Gueye he past it now, go with Garner and Rohl, and use Alcaraz as a striker, bet he would be more productive than B & B.”
- “Europe. Ha no chance. Survival this year. And probably next when KDH, Iliman Ndiaye and Jarrad Branthwaite all leave for teams that are currently in Europe. We can’t score goals for toffee but read this morning our top target for summer is another CB. Certainly is character-building being a blue.”
- “Get a confident goalscorer, Barry and Beto aren’t the answer, even try one of the kids.”
- “Toney is the man Everton have to get those answers to the question.”
- “I’m not even going to mention the missed goals, as there’s a more important thing that needs urgent attention. Gladly I wasn’t the only one who saw the KDH snub of Barry, but he wasn’t the only one and it’s obvious the team have absolutely no confidence in him! But even that’s not the issue I have seen! I really think he needs help and quickly…”
Everton don’t have a plan to break down the opposition
Everton’s home form is ultimately what’s going to cost them in the race for the European spots this season.
It seems that when Moyes’ side have the onus on them to attack games, they really struggle, and that’s a coaching issue.
What is going so wrong at the Hill Dickinson Stadium for Everton? 😳
It is now less than one win in every three following the loss against Bournemouth… 😤
The Toffees manager has always excelled at playing a pragmatic and counter-attacking style of football, which is why the away form has been so impressive.
But, Moyes is evidently struggling to deliver a clear tactical plan to his players to break down a low-block at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The handbrake needs to come off, and more attacking options like Adam Aznou and Nathan Patterson at full-back would be a good starting point.
