Everton fans have a lot to say about Harrison Armstrong after Preston decision

Everton have really high hopes for teenage midfielder Harrison Armstrong.

David Moyes was actually unsure about loaning Harrison Armstrong as he was happy to keep him in the first team.

But, the decision was made to send him to Championship outfit Preston North End to accelerate his development with regular game time.

Some Everton insiders felt it was wrong to let Armstrong leave, and now fans are saying the same thing after a Preston decision.

Everton fans react to Harrison Armstrong being benched again

Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom hasn’t started Harrison Armstrong once this season, as he was again on the bench in the goalless draw against Bristol City yesterday.

Everton have been replying to the post below, and they’re all saying the same thing.

@LordStu1234 replied: “And people were saying it’s better for him to go on loan. Now we’ve got Garner playing full back and Rohl injured. I’m not having it that Armstrong isn’t better than Ireobugnam.”

“I’d just bring him back ….. he wasn’t sent there to sit on their bench he may as well sit on ours as he’s already better than some that are on it,” @beav1967 added.

@howieowieowie commented: “He should never have been loaned out. We need him here.”

“Give it till November and I think Everton will recall him,” @CallaghanOllie admitted.

Paul Heckingbottom really likes Harrison Armstrong

Whilst it’s been a slow start to Armstrong’s Preston career, Heckingbottom is clearly a huge admirer of the midfielder, so his chances will come.

“He’s young in age but he’s mature in terms of his mentality, how he wants to succeed, his performances are already mature on the pitch,” Heckingbottom said earlier this month.

“When he played at Derby he played deep, he can do that, get on the ball, break things up and compete defensively.

“I think we can get more out of him in terms of getting on the front foot and press high and getting in the box, we want goals from all over the pitch.”
