Everton are screaming out for another striker option after the failure to sign Liam Delap.
David Moyes pinned down Delap as a ‘statement signing’, but unfortunately, the striker preferred a move to Chelsea.
It was looking like a promising deal between the Toffees and the Ipswich Town striker, but Delap wants to win trophies.
As disappointing as it is, there is still a long time in the window, and other striker options can be made available for Everton.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin could still leave Everton, so a new number nine will have to come in, and now Evertonians are debating a former Premier League striker.

Everton fans debate Timo Werner joining Everton this summer
With it being claimed that there is a clear void in the striking spot, Beto will surely have something to say about this.
However, the Guinea-Bissau international went back to ‘old’ Beto briefly last season, potentially proving to Moyes he can’t be too relied upon.
This will lead The Friedkin Group to explore other options, and one that has been made available for £4m this summer is former Tottenham and Chelsea striker Timo Werner.
According to the Print Edition of BILD (03/06/25), RB Leipzig will let Werner go for a cheap fee, and Everton fans have weighed in on whether this is a good choice.
@Ianc1878 said: “He’s scored 5 goals in his last 55 games, he’s on the downward spiral, no thanks!”
@nickweinstein27 sarcastically claimed: “Yes, let’s sign a player on huge wages who has ZERO end product. That’ll surely solve our creativity and lack of goal issue!”
@__adamwilson brutally put: “He is incapable of scoring or consistently creating chances for others.”
“There is a reason they only want 4 mil for him,” @paul71662150 said.
@MeerdsBeards listed the factors: “Zero product in PL. Huge wage and 4 million. Nah.”
@MSG6270 said: “He’s available for 4m for a reason, hard swerve.”

Werner is not the way forward for Everton this summer
To go from potentially signing one of the most exciting youngsters in the Premier League with Delap to suggesting Werner represents a fall from grace.
The German has Premier League experience, no doubt, but it’s certainly an experience he’d want to forget after his loan at Spurs last season.
| Werner’s statistics at Tottenham (24/25) | |
| Games played | 18 |
| Goals | 0 |
| Assists | 3 |
| Shots on target per 90 | 0.53 |
| Chances created | 10 |
| Duels won % | 42.9% |
Although the 29-year-old would fit into Moyes’ counter-attacking set-up, it’s not the lethal striker Everton are crying out for.
After a lack of goals last season, a number nine needs to be a priority, as the Toffees were miserable in the final third.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 13 | 38 | 11 | 15 | 12 | 42 | 44 | -2 | 48 |
A German could be the answer, but not Werner, as Nick Woltemade is of interest to Everton, and this should be the direction Moyes goes.
