Everton have lost the winning gene under David Moyes, but Evertonians will undoubtedly be content with a draw against Brentford.
It’s now seven Premier League games in a row without defeat for Everton as Jake O’Brien’s header saved Moyes’ side in a fairly solid away draw against the Bees.
A draw may not seem great after recent form, but it increases the Toffees’ gap from the relegation zone to 15 points.
Adding to the positives Nathan Patterson returned to Everton training which saw the Scotsman on the bench after being injured since the start of February.
In what was a decent away result for Moyes, the Toffees faithful weren’t best pleased with Beto who has been performing week in, week out recently.

Everton fans all saying Beto has returned to ‘old’ after Brentford draw
It’s certainly not a normality for the 27-year-old who has been firing on all cylinders after five goals in four games, and taking into account Beto has matched Erling Haaland in 2025.
However, after a disappointing performance against Thomas Frank’s Brentford, Everton fans all agreed that it seemed like Sean Dyche was back in charge.
Taking to X, these Evertonians made their feelings clear on Beto suggesting he’s gone back to his ‘old’ ways.
@oas1878 said: “That’s the old Beto.”
“He’s been old Beto tonight” @WayneKe07882039 said in agreement.
This was proven after Beto missed some crucial chances during the game, especially one where the Everton striker tried to round Mark Flekken in goal but failed.
@supermac08 commented on this saying: “Shades of old Beto there.”
@Evertonfansite1 summed it up with: “Back to the old Dyche Beto here like. He got caught under the ball for there goal too.”
Beto’s display in numbers after Everton’s 1-1 draw with Brentford
Despite Beto having a bad day at the office, Moyes was fuming with Jack Harrison as the Everton winger isn’t improving on his underwhelming performances.
Nevertheless, it was Beto who caught the eye of Evertonians, and his numbers vs Brentford don’t lie.
| Beto’s statistics in Brentford 1-1 Everton | |
| Minutes played | 90 |
| Big chances missed | 2 |
| Touches in opposition box | 4 |
| Expected goals (xG) | 0.62 |
| Shots off target | 1 |
Moyes will be hoping this is a one-off from the Guinea-Bissau international who has had a resurgence since Dyche’s departure.
This will now be a real test for Beto in proving to Everton fans he has really changed with a solid showing against Wolves.
