Everton are in the market for a centre-forward this summer transfer window.

The Toffees have held talks with Liam Delap, who has a £30m relegation release clause in his Ipswich Town contract.

David Moyes has made it no secret that he’d love to sign the 22-year-old, however, there is serious competition for his signature.

And, over the last 24 hours, it looks like Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Delap, per talkSPORT, so Everton may have to look elsewhere.

With that said, fans have already picked the striker they’d want to sign as an alternative.

Everton fans would love Nick Woltemade

Everton have drawn up a list of striking options, with Hamza Igamane and Callum Wilson thought to be on their radar.

Stuttgart’s 6 ft 6 centre-forward Nick Woltemade is also attracting interest from the Toffees, and now fans have decided they’d love him to be the new number nine, after seemingly missing out on Delap.

@The_Bluenose_ posted: “We could now be lining up a move for 6″6 German Nick Woltemade. This fella isn’t only a giant, he’s very good with the ball too, uses his physical side to back into defenders but likes to turn them and make direct runs in behind, very good runner for a big guy. Yes from me.”

“Let’s hope so. Would have preferred woltemade over Delap anyway,” @MathewVJones11 said.

@Elliot_Beard0 added: “This is the signing we have to make.”

@AndyClarke93116 commented: “I’ll take him over Delap to be fair!”

“Never heard of him until the other day, but am all in on him 6 foot 6 and seeing how he moves is impressive also scored 15 in a mid table stuttgart side, all for that me,” @LiamT30EFC explained.

“Already moved on and decided this guy is better than Delap,” @howardskendolls said.

Woltemade stats 2024/25

Woltemade has enjoyed a prolific season in the Bundesliga, which has alerted a number of clubs, not just Everton.

Arsenal have already made contact to sign Woltemade, who is thought to be valued at around £37m by Stuttgart.

The 23-year-old has also netted seven goals in 13 outings for Germany’s under-21s, so clearly he knows where the back of the net is.

Woltemade, as tall as he is, is much more than just a target man, as he ranks in the top four per cent for successful take-ons per 90, according to FBref.

His all-around game is well polished.
