Everton fans have all named their man of the match after the draw against Fulham, and everyone agrees one player deserves the credit.

Sean Dyche has Beto to thank for his late equaliser, which came out of nowhere in a game where Fulham largely dominated.

Everton extend their unbeaten streak to five games in the Premier League and move onto nine points from nine games, which is respectable after the first four games.

We believe that Jack Harrison had a day to forget as he offered absolutely nothing, but Idrissa Gueye was one of the only shining lights, controlling things from midfield.

All Everton fans agreed, as many mentioned, that Idrissa Gana Gueye was the only player who actually put in a decent shift on the night.

Idriss Gana Gueye’s performance in numbers against Fulham

Idrissa Gueye played the full 90 minutes against Fulham. He had 63 touches, a passing accuracy of 91%, completed both his dribbles, completed his only long ball, won ten duels, was fouled twice, made five tackles and two interceptions.

The midfielder is picking up his form at the perfect time. He looked very assured on the ball, breaking up play, covering huge amounts of ground and trying to connect defence to attack.

This is a big improvement on the ‘fatal’ performance Gueye put in for Senegal during the international break, which may have raised concern.

Everton fans vote for Idrissa Gueye as their Man of the Match

These Everton fans, when speaking on X, thought that Idrissa Gueye was the best player on the pitch for the Toffees.

Everton based X account @EvertonNewsFeed asked fans for their opinions on the man of the match.

“Gana all day, only one who was actually reading the game…the amount of times we gave the ball back was shocking.. learnt nothing from the 1st half just carried on doing the same thing over and over.” @Johnefc91 said.
