Everton’s improved run of results continued on Saturday after Beto sealed a point deep into stoppage time.
Sean Dyche‘s side somehow came away from the game with a point against Everton‘s former manager in what could have easily been a defeat.
Marco Silva admitted he was looking forward to visiting Goodison Park one final time and he will have left delighted with his side’s performance for 95 minutes.
The same cannot be said for the Blues who put in a performance which audibly did not impress the capacity crowd on Merseyside but Beto proved to be the super sub as he cancelled out Alex Iwobi’s goal.
After a dramatic ending to the game, here is Everton News‘ player ratings…

Jordan Pickford – 5/10
It looked like Jordan Pickford was wrong-footed by Iwobi’s effort as he looked set to curl it into the far corner.
Probably should have done better but that was overshadowed by the dismal defending.
Ashley Young – 5/10
A real lacklustre challenge on Emile Smith Rowe as the playmaker danced through the Everton side before laying the ball off for the opener.
James Tarkowski – 4/10
Wearing the captain’s armband again, James Tarkowski did not exactly put in the performance of a captain having been beaten by most Fulham crosses.
Like many others, Tarkowski was also caught ball watching as Iwobi lined up his shot.
Michael Keane – 5/10
Neither Michael Keane nor Tarkowski were able to put in a great account of themselves at Goodison with the pair of them dominated by Raul Jimenez.
He was even thrown up front for the final minutes of the game.
Vitalii Mykolenko – 5/10
Really struggled to stop the Fulham crosses coming in from the right-side but Vitalii Mykolenko did show some quality going forward in providing a good cross in the first half.
However, he squandered a great opportunity to provide a quality cross in the second 45 after overlapping Iliman Ndiaye down the left.
Abdoulaye Doucoure – 5/10
Neat and tidy on the ball in what was a testing evening for the Everton midfield with Fulham showing their intent right from the go.
Failed to shut down Iwobi just before the former Everton man pulled the trigger for his goal.
Idrissa Gueye – 7/10
His strike inside the first half was worthy of winning the game but Idrissa Gueye was denied by the crossbar.
Otherwise it was an evening dominated by defensive duties for the midfielder
Jack Harrison – 2/10
There is not a great deal which Jack Harrison actually did right against the Cottagers as his 2024/25 campaign awaits its first goal contribution.
His performance was summed up with his effort on goal straight after Iwobi’s goal as he miss hit it straight into the stands.
Iliman Ndiaye – 6/10
After Ndiaye said he is looking to become the world’s best footballer, the Senegal international looked like Everton’s only creative spark.
The effort cannot be denied but – like others – Ndiaye looked isolated when he did receive the ball with no real outlet to offload the ball to.
Dwight McNeil – 5/10
Darren Bent tipped Dwight McNeil as having an outside chance of an England call-up but he was not able to have usual impact on the game.
And to rub salt into the wound, McNeil left the game with an injury.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 4/10
Finished the rebound of Gueye’s stunning strike incredibly well to find the back of the net but Dominic Calvert-Lewin was ruled offside once again.
The striker has now been caught offside 16 times this season which is five more than any other player in the league.
Substitutes
Jesper Lindstrom – 4/10
Had very little impact after coming on and put in a shockingly bad corner in the final minutes.
Orel Mangala – N/A
Beto – 8/10
Came on and instantly provided more than what Calvert-Lewin offered. Took his header incredibly well to seal a point for the Blues.
Jarrad Branthwaite – N/A
