Everton fans have been left stunned as Salomon Rondon has been put up for an award that no one would have expected.

Sadly, striker issues are a thing at Everton, as Beto and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have struggled to ensure a consistent flow of goals.

The latter has just two goals in 12 games, yet Sean Dyche continues to persist with him.

Another player who struggled was Salomon Rondon, who featured 31 times for Everton, scoring just three times and assisting once, and ended up leaving by mutual consent back in 2022.

However, he’s improved with age since leaving Goodison Park and was even nominated for a prestigious appearance earlier on today.

Salomon Rondon nominated for Best Attacker at FIFA The Best Awards 2024

Rondon has been playing for Liga MX Apertura side Pachuca over in Mexico, and it’s going rather well.

He currently has five goals and two assists to his name this season, to follow on from 20 goals and three assists in 31 games last season for the same club.

His efforts have rewarded him with a rather strange nomination for the Best Attacker at FIFA The Best Awards 2024.

The striker features alongside players like Viktor Gyokeres, Kylian Mbappe, Ademola Lookman, Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland.
