Everton are expected to ramp up their summer spending as the new season rapidly approaches.

David Moyes has added Carlos Alcaraz and Thierno Barry to his Everton squad and is making advances to bring in his third signing.

Everton are readying a £12m bid to sign Tomas Soucek from West Ham United, with the Scotsman keen to reunite with the goalscoring midfielder.

Moyes is confident a deal will be completed and is already eyeing a more creative midfielder to potentially complete his ranks.

Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss is on the Toffees’ radar and fans have had a lot to say about that target.

Everton fans aren’t convinced by Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss

Everton supporters have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to react to El Khannouss potentially joining Moyes’ side.

“Not sure on that one. Wasn’t that impressed by him tbh. I know Leicester struggled and it’s hard to show your true self in circumstances like that but he didn’t look great imo and didn’t really have any pace either,” @aide_dews explained.

@stew2i said: “Players’ form can rise or fall due to a range of factors. I thought he looked lightweight within a really poor team last season.”

@LiamT30EFC added: “Lively player wouldn’t be a bad option but think there is better out there.”

“Lindstrom again,” @nasblownapart commented.

“No thanks,” @GraemeMcV admitted.

@lander_white noted: “Not good enough.”

Everton have competition in El Khannouss race

There is significant interest in El Khannouss’ signature this summer following Leicester City’s relegation to the Championship.

Nottingham Forest are eyeing the 21-year-old to potentially replace Morgan Gibbs-White, if he departs for Tottenham Hotspur.

West Ham United, Bournemouth and Bayer Leverkusen are also keeping tabs on the Morocco international.

So, quite clearly, it won’t be an easy deal to complete, and there would likely have to be assurances of regular game time.

El Khannouss operates best in a central role, so that would keep Iliman Ndiaye on the left flank, which isn’t his preferred position.
