Everton are pressing ahead with a number of transfer targets now that the new Premier League season is just weeks away.

David Moyes is exploring a deal to sign Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa, although, there is stiff competition for his signature.

Nottingham Forest are eyeing Ramsey to potentially replace Tottenham Hotspur-bound Morgan Gibbs-White.

Everton are interested in Omari Hutchinson, too, with David Moyes keen to add more quality to his attacking ranks.

Now, it seems Everton are making concrete steps to land their third signing of the summer as a bid is about to go in for a midfielder who loves Moyes.

Everton target Tomas Soucek said he has a great relationship with David Moyes

Everton are ready to bid £12m for Tomas Soucek, which will match the valuation West Ham United have set.

It’s understood Moyes is confident a deal will be completed as there shouldn’t be any issues over personal terms.

Soucek was signed by the Scotsman in 2020, and the pair have a really strong relationship, with the Czech Republic international admitting as recently as March that he’d be happy to go for a beer with the Everton boss.

“We had a great trip together to West Ham; he brought me there and I thank him very much for that. We have a good relationship, and I think that whenever we meet, we can easily go for a beer,” Soucek told Idnes.

Since returning to the club in January, Moyes has publicly admitted that he wants to sign a Marouane Fellaini-type midfielder.

The Scotsman wants to add a towering goalscoring midfielder to his ranks and that’s exactly what Soucek is.

Last term, the 30-year-old netted a very commendable nine goals in the Premier League, making him West Ham’s second top scorer behind only Jarrod Bowen.

Across his career, Soucek has scored a whopping 81 goals and is approaching half a century in England’s top-flight.

The only concern is will his arrival limit Harrison Armstrong’s minutes.
