Everton actually played quite well against Chelsea, but ultimately they fell to a 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking post-match, David Moyes admitted he was quite pleased with Everton’s performance as they were always in the game.
“The players knew they could walk to our fans at the end because of how well they performed and the supporters knew how well the players performed,” Moyes explained.
“You couldn’t leave today because we were right in the game right to the end, even up to the last minutes we were trying to score. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get back in it.”
Moyes was full of praise for James Garner after the game, and Iliman Ndiaye also earned lots of glowing plaudits.
Although there were a couple of really poor performances and Toffees fans want one player to be sold after his display at Stamford Bridge.

Everton fans want to sell Vitali Mykolenko after Chelsea display
Vitali Mykolenko was really poor against Chelsea as he gave the ball away a whopping 11 times. The left-back was also given the run around by Pedro Neto, who easily got the better of him.
Everton fans have actually urged the Friedkin Group to sell Mykolenko once the January transfer window opens.
“Sooner we get rid of Mykolenko the better, simply not good enough,” @irontimes posted.
@Lozefc admitted: “Mykolenko is by far the worst player I’ve seen at us who has consistently played and kept his place.”
“Antonee Robinson get him in, anybody but Mykolenko tbf,” @R_StandingEFC commented.
@Jay3FC said: “Please quick sell Mykolenko.”
“Mykolenko is awful, never been good enough,” @blueellie62 noted.
Everton need to upgrade Vitali Mykolenko in January
Alan Myers reckons Everton will sign three players in January, and one of them is expected to be a full-back.
It has been reported that Antonee Robinson is on Moyes’ radar, and the Fulham left-back is thought to be open to a return to Merseyside.
Name the left-back you’d love to see Everton sign to upgrade Mykolenko, go!
Adam Aznou is waiting in the wings and has been doing extra work in the gym to provide Mykolenko with greater competition.
So, perhaps Moyes could hand Aznou an opportunity before going out and spending a portion of his transfer budget on another left-back.
A striker and a central defender are probably bigger priorities at this stage.
