Everton go again this weekend – and David Moyes will likely welcome Crystal Palace being the club’s next opponent.

The Toffees are currently dusting themselves down after a frenetic draw with Manchester City on Monday night.

Everton came so close to pulling off a major scalp, but unfortunately conceded right at the death to Jeremy Doku for a share of the spoils.

Who would you be starting up front on Sunday against Crystal Palace? 😬

Do you stick with Beto or reward Barry for Monday's brace? 🤔

It felt like a defeat, but Everton need to respond now – and Palace are this weekend’s opponents.

The Eagles, of course, have their Europa Conference League semi-final second leg on Thursday against Shakhtar Donetsk.

So there’s every chance that their midweek exertions will benefit Everton.

And there’s even more reason to be optimistic given David Moyes’ record against Palace.

David Moyes has a quietly impressive record vs Crystal Palace

Moyes has rather enjoyed managing against Palace down the years.

He has taken 20 matches against the Eagles so far in his career and been on the winning side 12 times, drawing four and losing four.

He had an extremely good start in terms of facing Palace in his early years in management, winning his first seven consecutive matches.

In terms of the breakdown of his results, four of those 12 wins have come as Everton manager, with two from his first spell in charge and two since he returned to the club. He has a 100% record as Everton manager against Palace.

Two of his victories came when he was managing West Ham United.

One came as Sunderland boss, he had three as Manchester United manager and three as Preston boss.

Interestingly, this record gives Moyes a points-per-game ratio of 2.00 against Palace.

The only current Premier League club against whom he has a higher PPG than Palace, is Sunderland (2.04).

Everton are on a brilliant run vs Crystal Palace as a club

In general, Everton have fared well against Palace in recent years.

The Toffees are unbeaten in the last 10 across all competitions, and have lost just two of the last 25.

So simply put, this is a fantastic chance to get back on track and potentially get into the European conversation again.

The result against City was damaging, but there remains an outside chance. Dropping points is not an option.
