Tomas Soucek’s transfer seems to have split the Everton fanbase as David Moyes is searching for a reunion.
West Ham and Everton could have some late negotiations as the Czech Republic midfielder could be coming to Merseyside.
The Toffees aren’t giving up on a deal, as after Everton’s £14.7 million bid was rejected, the Blues are lining up another offer.
Moyes has a good view of the 30-year-old, so he’ll know the Irons star fits into his plans.
But Evertonians have raised an eyebrow, as one player might be thinking his future had an unfair ending.

Everton fans suggest Abdoulaye Doucoure should have stayed instead of Tomas Soucek signing
This summer, Abdoulaye Doucoure departed the club after five seasons donning the Royal Blue.
It was revealed that Doucoure was offered a new contract, but it seemed to be the difference in wages that led to his departure after his £20 million move in 2020.
But now Soucek is in the frame, fans over on X have spotted similarities between the two players, and claim that the Mali international should have just stayed.
One supporter explained: “Soucek stylistically not even remotely close to what we need, rather we just give Doucoure the contract he wanted if this was only gonna be the case!,” with another agreeing, “Could have saved transfer fee and kept doucs, I agree.”
“Bang on,” a fan said in agreement with the original post, as one followed up with: “He can’t run, all West Ham fans say it. Good player, but his legs have gone. I wouldn’t have him over Doucoure.”
Another Evertonian blamed the hierarchy, saying: “Genuinely may as well have kept Doucoure instead of going to Soucek. Stinks of a lack of planning if you ask me,” as another fan claimed he doesn’t want Soucek, “It’s honestly the type of signing people have been saying we should be avoiding.”
It does seem interesting to go for a very similar player to their former star, but Moyes will know the Czech midfielder can offer so much more.
Everton would get a more attacking outlet with Tomas Soucek than Abdoulaye Doucoure
Doucoure was seen as the clutch player around the club during his tenure, but his performances seemed to drop.
That’s why his excessive wage wasn’t justifiable, but there might be questions as to why Moyes isn’t signing a number six and is instead bringing another attacking option in the middle of the park.
Soucek could be Moyes’ ‘next Fellaini’, and from an attacking sense, he certainly trumps Doucoure.
| Statistics | Abdoulaye Doucoure in 24/25 | Tomas Soucek in 24/25 |
| Games played | 33 | 35 |
| Goals | 3 | 9 |
| Touches in opposition box | 71 | 109 |
| Aerial duels won % | 40.0% | 57.4% |
| Duels won per 90 | 3.74 | 6.16 |
Although this could come in handy next season, spending over £15 million on the 30-year-old is no doubt a risk, as money would have been saved by keeping Doucoure.
It seems as though Everton fans have never been on board with Soucek, and they’ve firmly stamped their foot down.
