Everton get second chance to sign January target as transfer looms

Everton only signed Tyrique George on loan from Chelsea in the winter transfer window, but there were attempts to make more additions.

The Toffees wanted to sign Youssef En-Nesyri on loan from Fenerbahce, but the Morocco international opted to move to Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad instead.

Another striker was then considered as Everton enquired about Wilson Isidor at Sunderland.

A move never materialised, but Charlie Gordon now states that Sunderland are ready to let the Haiti international leave for less than the £25m they quoted The Friedkin Group in January.

Do we all owe this man an apology after his performance against Man City? 👀

Everton could now sign Wilson Isidor

Gordon states that the 25-year-old is now “ready to quit” Sunderland after going five months without a start in the Premier League, as Regis Le Bris prefers Brian Brobbey.

The Black Cats are said to be open to selling now and will not block Isidor from an exit, although Everton have competition with Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Burnley also interested.

The Sunderland No.18 – who is under contract until July 2028 – scored four goals in his first nine Premier League appearances this season, having netted 12 in 43 Championship games last term to fire the Black Cats to promotion.

However, with Brobbey now the talisman at Sunderland, Isidor is set to leave.

Everton could make another move, but the summer market is very different to the winter market.

There will be more options available for The Friedkin Group to consider, with Chelsea open to selling Liam Delap while Napoli want to offload Romelu Lukaku – both of whom are under consideration at Everton.

Richarlison is also being monitored as Tottenham face the very real threat of relegation.

In this respect, the Everton ship may have already sailed for Isidor.
