Everton picked up a 3-1 victory against Fulham on Saturday.

David Moyes’ side went behind in the first half but netted three unanswered goals in the second period to claim all three points in the capital.

Carlos Alcaraz produced a sensational performance and the travelling Everton fans could be heard chanting his name.

It was a clear message to the Friedkin Group to activate Alcaraz’s option to buy in the summer, which stands at around £16m.

Toffees fans came up with a new Jordan Pickford chant, too, as the England international got the last laugh after what Bernd Leno said one year ago.

Jordan Pickford gets the last laugh over Bernd Leno after Everton beat Fulham

Around this time last year, Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno made a brutal comment about Jordan Pickford.

Leno was ranking goalkeepers from one to 10, and he put the Everton keeper in 20th, before claiming it was a joke.

Well, Pickford enjoyed the last laugh yesterday, as his Everton side put three past the German shot-stopper.

Leno made a terrible error, too, with Beto’s goal easily preventable, and Eni Aluko criticised him on BBC Match of the Day.

“It just squirms under the keeper. Horrible mistake. It’s an awful error,” Aluko said.

Attention turns to Goodison Park farewell

Attention now turns to next Sunday, as Everton host Southampton for the final game at Goodison Park before the move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

It will be one of the most emotional days in the club’s 147-year history, with hardly a dry eye in the famed stands.

Everton have some really exciting plans for the Goodison farewell, with some suggestions that a new special edition kit could be worn by the players.

There is still an outside chance Moyes’ men could creep into 12th with two wins to end the season, so that will provide more motivation, with extra prize money on offer.
